Inspired By The Best Selling Book

This Teambuilding program was inspired by the #1 bestselling book with over 7.5 million copies in print to date – The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown.  The book is a suspense story wrapped around a lecture on art and religion.  Although the real meaning behind Leonardo's art is ultimately unknowable, the real-life places in which Brown has set his tale are known to historians and tourists throughout the world, and the book has inspired many to further explore the works of this brilliant man.

A prankster and genius, Leonardo DaVinci is widely believed to have hidden secret messages within much of his artwork.  Most scholars agree that even DaVinci's most famous pieces – works like The Mona Lisa, The Last Supper and Madonna of the Rocks –contain startling anomalies that all seem to be whispering the same cryptic message…a message that hints at a shocking historical secret which allegedly has been guarded since 1099 by a European secret society known as the Priory of Sion.

Inspired by DaVinci Code aficionados, The DaVinci Teambuilding Experience for your group uses the mystery and intrigue founded in Dan Brown’s DaVinci Code  and key strategies from Michael Gleb’s book – How to Think Like Leonardo DaVinci: Seven Steps to Genius Everyday.  These seven key DaVinci principles will creatively impact teambuilding and personal leadership of your team. The program will be a combination of the Seven Principles of Leonardo DaVinci – a revolutionary, inspirational and practical approach to learning coupled with a fun adventure throughout the city of your choice creating a unique learning experience for your group.

Michael Gleb in his book entitled, How To Think Like Leonardo DaVinci, cites seven principles that are basic to the development of a creative "Renaissance" thinker.  These principles form a new, creative and cutting edge "umbrella" under which your group can re-think about running their business, managing people and leading themselves.  Our DaVinci Teambuilding Experience can create an inspirational change through a new and practical way of looking at business, relationships and life.

The Seven Davinci Principles are:
  • “Curiosita” - Curiosity and an insatiable quest for learning
  • “Dimonstratrazione” - A commitment to test knowledge through experience and risk-taking 
  • “Sensazione” - Continued refinement of the senses 
  • “Sfumato” - Willingness to embrace ambiguity, paradox and uncertainty 
  • “Arte/Scienza” -     Development of balance between science and art, logic and imagination 
  • “Corporalista” - Cultivation of grace and fitness 
  • “Connessione” -     Recognition of interconnectedness of all things and phenomena
The program will consist of the following two major components.  Based on further needs analysis, the exact content, flow and types of exercises may change.

1.      DaVinci Code Teambuilding Scavenger Hunt – 1 hour and 45 minutes

The objective of this portion is to create a memorable and engaging event that challenges participants to think creatively about fulfilling their mission within the organization, and how they can be more resilient and work more effectively in teams.  The proposed activities will be experienced as a group and debriefed together.

This teambuilding program brings mystery, intrigue, adventure, famous art pieces, historical characters and espionage skills.  Each member will be briefed on Leonardo DaVinci and the rules for discovering the Mystery Message hidden in the Seven DaVinci Principles unveiled in the clues provided on the scavenger hunt.  This group is made up of your best and brightest minds in the industry, and we will give them the training to make them higher performers.

This is a race against time, where every team member will encounter historical, visual, cryptic and humorous clues – presented through historical characters, paintings, latest technology trends, secret codes and some strange twists.  Completing the DaVinci Teambuilding Experience demands every type of skill set of each team member.  This is a great opportunity for team collaboration and leadership skills.

2.    Unveiling of the Seven DaVinci Principles and the Mystery Message – 45 minutes

The group will return to the hotel to debrief and reveal all Seven DaVinci Principles and the Mystery Message.  We will then draw on some of the DaVinci principles that were used by people throughout the scavenger hunt.   (For example: Being uncomfortable with the unknown….or understanding how art and science work together)

This activity will provide a fun and “wow” factor for the day, while still providing valuable insights into their own behaviours, leadership skills and emotions that we can draw upon in the debrief and closing “Key Lesson and Application” section.

This is the learning portion of the program geared toward education and interaction, with each participant leaving the session having gained:
  • How the seven principles can be integrated into daily business life.
  • How to feel more at home with the unknown.
  • Ideas on how to improve resilience and ability to collaborate in a team by using the senses.
  • Understanding of what it means to live and manage with DaVinci’s principles in mind.  The pursuit of beauty and the pursuit of truth are not incompatible. 
  • Inspiration to view this session and the interconnectedness of the entire four-day meeting as an opportunity to really engage and grow themselves personally and professionally.
